The available data from rich countries shows that women didn't live longer than men in the 19th century. What is the reason women live much longer than men today, and why does this benefit increase over time? The evidence isn't conclusive and we have only partial answers. We recognize that biological, behavioral and environmental factors all contribute to the fact that women are healthier than men; however, we do not know what the contribution of each of these factors is.

Why do women live so more than men do today, and why have these advantages gotten bigger in the past? There isn't much evidence and we're only able to provide limited solutions. We know there are biological, psychological and environmental factors which play a significant role in women's longevity more than men, we don't know what percentage each factor plays in.
