Two popular succulent plants are related to the snake plant: aloe vera, and agave. Their leaves have a distinctive shape. All plants that are classified under the Caryophyllidae subclass are insect-pollinated. The seeds of all these plants have two cotyledons. During the short summer months perennial plants will quickly grow, mature and then reproduce seeds. They produce reddish-colored flowers in short spikes. Lithops thrive as long they have light. Make sure the container is kept in a dry location with plenty of light.
