You can use a variety of soil to plant succulents in containers. For better drainage, we recommend cactus mixes. Cactus soil is very draining because it has a lot of particles. This makes it easier for water to flow when you irrigate. If you see that the leaves are turning brown and looking limp and soggy, you are probably giving your plant too much water. In this case, the plant's top will be healthy and you won't see any root structure or features from the lower leaves or stem rots. Soon, multiple leaves will form new plants. The top portion of the rosette can also be rooting in fresh soil.

This succulent is generally considered to be 'disease-resistant. But, always be aware of mealy bugs, vine weevils or aphids. Echeveriaelegans don't need much water, and it doesn't require much care. Echeveria elegans are self-groomers. This perennial belongs to the Crassulaceae group and is scientifically known by the Echeveria-elegans plant genus. Surprised to learn this, succulent is not a plant family or scientific classification. The Joshua Tree, a large tree of the agave family can reach 40 feet in height. These plants are hardy and can tolerate all temperatures.

It will depend on the extent of damage done to the succulent. While you can do it and watch how the succulent reacts, it is best to not take too much risk. So how do you tell if succulents have been too watered? Although your plants won't suffer any significant damage if they go without water for more than two to three days, watering when the soil is still moist can cause root rot. If root rot has reached the point where it is affecting the top of the plant, then you will see the signs of excessive watering such as mushy and discolored leaves.

You can also try your hand at growing succulents from seeds. While that can provide a unique look, it may not be the shape or appearance you want. Some haworthia species can be grown in direct sunlight. However, many species need shade when the sun is too intense. You can also trim the stems and leaves of the succulent plant for different reasons. I like to use succulent/cactus pot mix mixed with pumice or perlite. For young sempervivum plants, you can mix regular garden soil and sand at a 1:1 ratio to make a great potting mix.
