Euphorbia polygona ('Snowflake") is a spiny succulent that produces a thin mat of up to 8 inches (20cm) of segmented, simple- or basally clumping, chalky, white stems. Euphorbia langituberculosa (succulent plant) has a thick taproot which becomes a swollen, often tuberculate, (sometimes smooth) stem.
