The new succulent plant should be grown in well-draining soil. Root rot, powdery mildew, and fungus can all occur if the plant is overwatered. If you did not allow the cutting to become callus, it would still grow. It is important to sterilize, lest you infect both the plant and the cuttings with diseases or introduce harmful substances into them. The two primary diseases are root rot, which mainly comes from overwatering. To prevent rootrot, you may also add gravel layers between the potting mixes.
