Pig's ear, a succulent, grows in thick oval leaves with red edges. Desert cacti have transferred the photosynthesis from its leaves to its stem in order to reduce the moisture loss that would normally occur through the stomata. Although it can tolerate low light and little watering, it still needs some bright light and moisture when the soil dries up. It's time to repot your plants if you notice that they are looking duller than normal or have rot root issues. You can water succulents in pots that don't drain once you know how. They will thrive for many years.
