Euphorbia polygona ('Snowflake") is a spiny succulent that produces a thin mat of up to 8 inches (20cm) of segmented, simple- or basally clumping, chalky, white stems. Euphorbia longituberculosa, a succulent, has a thick taproot that merges into a swollen tuberculate (sometimes smooth), stem. Euphorbia pseudoglobosa, a succulent, has erect, 4-sided stems with large, green leaves. Haworthia triangular leaves can turn red in winter or spring.
