Yes. The many succulent species that can live indoors are a good example of this. They have also become popular houseplants. This plant was created from a stem that had been broken (see above). The pericarpel structure is the unique arrangement in which the flower's stem tissue is used to surround its ovary. Cut through infected tissue is a good idea as it can spread disease. I usually leave the plant alone, let it completely bloom and wait for the blooms to dry out before I cut them off. Once the cut is dried and healed, place the cuttings on a well drainage potting mix.
