Yes. Many succulent species have made indoors living easy and are very popular houseplants. This plant was created from a stem that had been broken (see above). The pericarpel structure is the unique arrangement in which the flower's stem tissue is used to surround its ovary. Cut through infected tissue is a good idea as it can spread disease. I prefer to leave the plant alone. I let the plants bloom fully and then wait for them to dry before cutting them.
