Pig's ear is succulent that grows in thick, oval leaves with red edges. Desert cacti have transferred photosynthetic from the leaves to their stems to help reduce moisture loss. Although it can tolerate low light and little watering, it still needs some bright light and moisture when the soil dries up. If your plant looks duller or has rot roots, you should repot it.
