This succulent's flowers are small and only 1 inch in length. They can also vary in color from white to cream, yellow, orange, pink and even deep purple. It is also called Mother-in Law's Tongue. Because of its long, slim leaves, it resembles a snake tongue. I keep my succulents outside all year. Aloe vera hybrids also produce bright orange blooms. To soothe minor burns, Aloe vera can be used by cutting open a leaf. One small nursery plant, after a year's growth, will yield three or more cuttings you can use to start new plants.
