A succulent nursery may have Crassula seed stock. Mother nature will provide the watering requirements for the plants in winter. But, it is important to water them well during the warmer months. It's drought-tolerant once established and requires minimal care. Overwatering doesn't refer to the amount of water you give your succulents. It's more about how often you water them. A major difference between water roots and soil roots is that you are directly placing the succulents into the soil and watering them when needed as opposed to the water roots, which are constantly in water.
