T. maxima is a tall-shaped succulent that looks like a firework display. It's also known as T. maxima. As it ages, the succulent grows as a standing stump with circular hairy stems. The succulent scientific name, Tillandsia stricta, means "erect", which is a reference to the plant's upright habit. Tillandsia rigida can be mounted almost anywhere, including woods, seashells, ceramics or rocks. Epiphytes don't require soil to grow. Instead they attach to trees, rocks and fences to make themselves useful. While they look like vibrant sea rocks, the succulents are still alive and kicking.
