Once pruned, place the succulent in a spot with indirect light, allowing it to slowly acclimate to increased hours of light. Many jade plant varieties can be grown in very low light conditions, especially if there is indirect light. The monkey tail's flowers can be light pink or red, and are less than an inch wide at the tips of its long stems. The succulent often sprouts small flowers that are reddish along the edges of its stems. Because the stems look like a zipper, there are also ripples on the sides.
