At lower right is a succulent native to Oregon: Sedum oreganum. Below: Becky enclosed a large sempervivum-rosette with small sedums, Delosperma coeri (lower left) and Sedum consusum (lowerright). Becky describes Sempervivum Black' as shown below, in stark contrast to chartreuse Sedums 'Lemon Coral'. The only thing you have to do is gain some experience in string of pearls maintenance techniques, such as sun exposure or watering. The best thing about these plants is their ability to thrive without requiring a lot in terms of care. The plant will display signs like orange pigmentation, dryness, and slow growth if it is exposed to a lot. Use a pair or gardening scissors to carefully remove a section of the vine from the plant. The soil must be well drained to ensure winter-hardy succulents are able to survive rain, snow and cold. The soil's minerals will encourage drainage and help to balance water retention. Debbie succulents thrive in clay and terracotta containers with large drainage holes. To prevent soil from falling out, cover drain holes with a 2-inch-square made of a paper towel. Drain well before replacing. If you can see roots through the drain hole, it's time to re-pot. Adromischus does not like cold temperatures so if it gets below 20 degrees F (-6.7deg Celsius), you should plant it in an indoor container. Aloe, a plant that grows upright, is perfectly suited for tall containers. It becomes active and grows faster to produce flowers in the spring and summer. She grows them in Turner Oregon, close to the Washington border. If you are concerned about this, consider adding a curtain or moving the plants farther away from glass. You can also add a layer of crushed tumbled glass from craft shops, florist suppliers, or online.

Add a 1/4-inch layer of white or neutral-colored sand (but not beach sand---too salty). Next, add your filler material, such as sand, turface or poultry grip. String of Pearls are made from stem cuttings. The end can be stuck into the soil to propagate them. If stem succulents stretch or rosette succulents flatten, they're asking for more light. Hopefully this one will thrive now that it's in a more suitable potting soil. The prickly fruit can be eaten uncooked, but it is best to thoroughly wash them before eating. Established or stressed haworthia needs a maximum of 5,000 lux; a plant that is still growing requires 10,000 lux maximum, while a robust and well-established haworthia can survive in relatively intense light conditions of up to 20,000 lux. It can be grown on 18 square feet. Your kalanchoe should be top-dressed, regardless of whether it is grown indoors or outside. Blue Spruce Stonecrop is cold-hardy and can withstand temperatures up to -30F (-34.4 degrees C). Becky's compositions are able to overwinter outside in northern climates (Zones 4-8) if the potting medium drains well. But, the sun's ultraviolet light can, when magnified by untreated glass, burn leaves.

However, pumice can be a bit more difficult to find, depending on where you live, and it can be more expensive than perlite. She emphasizes the importance for succulents to have good drainage. This applies to all succulents, but is particularly important for those in wet areas. Haworthias can be particularly vulnerable as they are shade succulents. It should be planted in full sun to partial shade.
