Succulent plans should be prepared for 40 degrees Fahrenheit. This is because this is the temperature at that they will start to change their color. When they reach their freezing point, frost and rot will occur. Root rot can be caused by soaking the leaves in freezing water in the evening. Succulents don't need a lot of water during dormancy, or high humidity throughout the year. Many succulents will survive a quick frost, which lasts less than an hour.
