Don?t Be Fooled By How Much Perlite Per Gallon Of Soil
A general rule of thumb is that succulents should be watered once a week. But there may be exceptions to this rule. Over fertilization can cause leaf burning, so be sure to read the label. The big question is how much water they need. You can use any water, but only to what extent. You may use it depending on the succulent species for industrial fertilizers, but there is a word of caution. Most Agave varieties are monocarpic. Here are my soil recommendations. For soil moisture testing, many people use moisture meters. A wooden skewerstick can also be used. Some gardeners prefer to use water over soil because it is difficult to root their succulents. The chicks and hen plant can survive for long periods without water. Make sure you have enough ventilation if your greenhouse contains many ice plants.
