Your succulent's lower leaves will eventually dry out and become dead. How healthy and happy your Kalanchoe will be depends on the water you use. Some gardeners prefer slow-release fertilizer pellets to liquid plant food. Dracaenas don't require any fertilization. They can spread diseases and rot to other plants. Haworthia turgida is not cold hardy, so if you live in a zone that gets colder than 30deg F (-1.1deg C), it's best to plant this succulent in a container that can be brought indoors.
