Does Using Less Air Conditioning Save money?
It seems logical that the better days you leave your HVAC system turned off, the more money you'll help save in utility bills. I understand that I truly like owning the windows wide open on breezy spring afternoons and also on cooler fall evenings. From the house of mine, there usually appears to be a grudge match between the temperature outside and my stubborn insistence to keep air conditioning turned off. Living in the Richmond, however, Virginia area, I usually lose that battle sometime around mid-May. The high temperature as well as humidity of a Richmond summer comes creeping in as well as before you understand it, I'm sweating while seeing prime time TV.
As soon as the air cooling is switched on, I usually leave it on for the length of the summer months. Being as frugal as I'm, leaving the air conditioning considered a set temperature throughout the warm summer months should help power consumption at a consistent and steady flow. Needless to say, there are vacations and extended periods of time that we spend outside of the home. When this happens, I quite often turn the air conditioner temperature up to between eighty and 84 degrees. This helps regulate the humidity in the home while we are away - and also preserve the cat a bit comfortable.
Regularly fluctuating the thermostat temperature leads to the air conditioner of yours as well as HVAC system to keep working harder to achieve whichever temperature is set. For example, in case you have set the air conditioner to 78 degrees, most air conditioners are able to handle cooling the home of yours to that setting on actually the hottest of summer days. But making up your mind that you would like your house considerably cooler - particularly on a swelteringly hot morning of mid-July - and turning the thermostat down to 70 degrees will lead your ChilWell AC Reviews to run continuously. Remember, air conditioners don't so much cool the air inside the home of yours rather than remove the heat as well as humidity from the atmosphere. There is a huge difference. Removing a number of degrees of heat is so much easier than removing 10-20 degrees of heat.
You will notice if you turn the central air of yours on and off throughout the summer that the month energy costs of yours are ridiculously high. That's since your HVAC system has to work more hard each time you switch the air-conditioning on to accomplish the desired temperature. Maintaining the thermostat set at a steady temperature will keep the home of yours in a continual temperature throughout the year round, meaning the air conditioner of yours won't have to work as hard to cool your house, helping you save cash.
When the season changes to fall, turn off the central air and open the windows. Enjoy the fresh, cool, comfortable air flow as long as you can simply because before you see it, the cold winter is going to be on you. Well then it's time for the standoff with the furnace of yours, although you'll shed that fight eventually, also.
