Succulent plans should be prepared for 40 degrees Fahrenheit. This is because this is the temperature at that they will start to change their color. When they reach their freezing point, frost and rot will occur. Root rot can be caused by soaking the leaves in freezing water in the evening. But no succulents want a lot of water when dormant, nor high humidity at any time of the year. A lot of succulents breeze through a brief frost (less than an hour), but leaf tips of Agave attenuata show damage right away. Agave ttenuata will look this way after a brief exposure of 32 degrees. Agave attenuata is the first succulent to show damage from frost in winter. String-of-Pearls, an example of a succulent, is considered a great winter plant by succulent enthusiasts. This is because they are very low-maintenance, particularly in winter. They need to be given the proper attention and care for winter. The capensis plant requires very little care and can thrive in any soil as long there's good drainage.

Succulents are able to withstand prolonged periods of drought but they will still be happy to drink water on a regular basis. You should only worry about succulents that are out in the open with nothing above. You might have heard that christmas cactus dropping leaves lights can increase the temperature by a few degrees. It all depends on how low temperatures are below 32 degrees F. Frost tender succulents might show varying degrees. It will keep you safe from temperatures below freezing for between 2 and 4. Finding a sunny spot is a great idea. The good news about spring growth is that it often hides the damage. Rain brings dissolved minerals, nitrogen, washes away dirt that inhibits photosynthesis, flushes out harmful salts from soil, and boosts spring and flowering.
