What to do if your cat ingests poisonous succulents? The requirements for this plant are the same as those for a succulent wreath. It needs bright but not intense sunlight (rotate frequently to get even exposure), weekly watering from the top to evenly moisten moss, and pinching back if the cuttings get too long. Showers are great for succulents, but they don't do much good. This may sound strange, but it's actually quite delicious and has many health benefits. It's tempting to make the tree look a lot more colorful than it actually is. Watch for a future newsletter about these increasingly popular succulents. Some of my photos will show these amazing dotted and speckled Succulents. If you upload photos to social media, be sure to tag yours. Take photos and use them to create your season's greetings. You are welcome to download these photos and use them as long as the photo credit is intact.

The crystal corsage beads (second photo) struck just the right note. The florist's pegs rust. The best leaf to propagate is the one that has red roots. Cacti that have hairy roots tend to be short-lived. Here are three succulent holiday ideas. If you don't mind the blue, bluegray or lavender colors, these are not holiday colors. My succulent topiary tree holiday centerpiece requires less maintenance than a floral arrangement and can last several months (or longer if properly groomed). The severity and type of problem will determine which method works best. Echeverias thrive in protected areas among rocks. These plants can be hardy in an open garden but are easier to grow in pots. These "vignettes", which are optional, offer an opportunity to express your creativity, make your garden more enjoyable, and give visitors delightful surprises. His pots will be available in the gift shop as well the annual Cactus-Succulent Show, which takes place in April. A long-time Cactus and Succulent Society member, Jim volunteers at nearby South Coast Botanic Garden.

The best place to grow aloe vera is in a window sill, or anywhere that gets at least five to six hours of sunshine per day. Mother Nature can sometimes take over, no matter how much we try to care for our plants. It's a highly desirable habitat for people as well as plants, and a great place to view large specimens. The soil pH is controlled by the oyster shells, which provide calcium for succulents. Once your plant is established, you won't see as much soil. So be patient and don't add soil toppers. Consider whether they are worthy of a place in the collection.

As you can see, Jim, Jan, and I had a wonderful time meeting them and seeing their garden. Jackie Johnson was the president of Peninsula Garden Club where Jackie gave me a presentation on Designing with Succulents. Root rot can occur in succulents and other cacti as well. If that seems far-reaching, then you might consider well water. You will also find dry creek beds that double up as pathways in the garden. Rainwater is funneled into the garden by a dry creek bed made of river cobbles. It needs to be poured thoroughly and allowed to dry completely before watering again. The soil should dry completely before watering again. I give them a nice drink and let them go until the next watering. Some species will take 20+ years before blooming in the wild. Some others might take decades or even centuries. While it's not difficult to grow the plant in the desert, you will need to be more careful when trying to grow the plant indoors.
