Your succulent leaves turning black does not need fertilizer. But it will grow if you do. If you do it early enough, the plant will just "forget about it" and go back to growing! You will see offsets growing from the parent plant when your succulent is healthy. The plant will only be able to focus on the next season, and not the stress it has experienced during the growing season. Overwatering can cause your snake plant to die.
