For the "Dragon Bone Tree", the substrate should contain equal amounts of clay and sand. Water the plants well during the growing season (usually from spring through fall when the growth is at its peak), until the water starts to drain from the pot's holes. This may not be true for all potted pots. When enough water has been taken, the drainage holes drain excess water from your pot. Make sure your new potter, whether it is a vase, pot or wooden box, has drainage holes.

But, "they burned in winter." Jim claims that these are remnants of solar panels. These are the ones that are more difficult or less easy to cultivate, taste better, or are not as appealing to me. Aloe vera, Agave Blue Glow', kalanchoes among others. Gophers can occasionally decimate large succulents. This Agave americana marginata is an example.
