They thrive best in bright light, both indoors or outside, and when protected from frost. Although they are drought-tolerant, these plants cannot withstand frost. Protect them from freezing temperatures. These plants are not frost tolerant and need protection from direct sunlight. 3. Place your plants into their original pots to gauge how much soil they need. Stem-rot refers to rot occurring on or around the stem, above ground level, while root-rot refers to decay taking place down among the roots, below ground level.

Aeonium Simsii succulents need to be watered only once per week because they are a low-maintenance, low-maintenance species. Apply a good dose of the fertilizer to the plant at least twice a year during the spring and the summer seasons. If your plant has been kept in a container for longer than six month, you will need to feed it once a week with 1/2 cup of 10-10-10 fertilizer and one-fourth of a cup of Epsom salts.

Though this plant rarely blooms, it can produce clusters of white, bottle-shaped flowers atop a long stalk produced at the center of the rosette. Cutting the flower stalk from the base will help your aloe Vera recover from some of the leaves that have dried up or browned. Cut the offsets at the base using a sharp tool. Locate the offsets in the main stem below the soil. You will need to carefully remove the stem and plant it in the appropriate soil. A new stem will appear within a few days or so. The plant grows quickly so I expect it to outgrow its pot and will need to be repotted into a larger pot. Place the roots in a separate garden pot with the same well draining soil that was used to plant the parent plants. Be sure to get all of the required materials before you start planting. The drainage holes in your pot will also affect how draining the soil is after you have placed the plant in it.
