My wife and I have lived in an all sun home for 20 years. We heat, power and so cool our home with the sunshine. Just the fact of having to live in a solar home requires us to to believe conservatively if you use energy. Keeping our home cool in the summer was a problem to begin with since our solar electrical charging system couldn't provide plenty of energy to power a standard air conditioner.
In a household that we used to dwell in we used an evaporative cooler to cool the home of ours. They work well in dry climates and use about 1/4 to 1/3 the effectiveness of standard devices. As we live in essentially dry climate, I thought that I could be in a position to utilize the same sort of cooler in our home.

I initially purchased several units which were used inside the home. They'd some place to add water although they weren't very efficient since they didn't pull in outside air which is the most effective way of cooling. They also put into use 110 volt AC power which our solar system offers though they used more power than we liked.

I chose to purchase a current window mount evaporative cooler and convert it to perform on one 12 volt solar energy panel, one which was capable to give between 75 watts and 125 watts of energy. The current less hot had a squirrel style fan and 110 Volt motor and pump. I chose to leave those there and not remove them. I included a 12 volt car fan and a marine bilge pump to the now sun cooler. Solar cooling is achievable.

I mounted the radiator fan right face the squirrel cage fan along with the bilge pump next to the existing pump. I am able to really make use of the initial fan as well as pump on those warm nights if the sun has set. Keeping the new radiator fan set in front doesn't appear to work less efficiently as well as the regular fan does not appear to be influenced by the radiator fan being before it.
The last thing that I had to do was mount a solar electric panel somewhere close. I decided to make a tracking mount thus I will be able to run the sun cooler a small amount longer in the early morning and late evening. It's proven truly advantageous since we gain 2 to 3 additional hours of usage throughout the day.
The cooler works surprisingly well for our 1600 square foot house. It is most certainly not the recommended size and should be larger to offer much more air circulation. The device that I converted is a 3000 cfm device and it is really undersized for our home. The bottom line is it does still effectively work. If I was looking to I could sooner or later have a second unit and set it in another area in the home. At this point I have not seen a need.
The key to employing the solar cooler is starting it at the beginning of the morning and allowing it to run throughout the day. Some other varieties of chillwell portable ac battery pack (https://www.techtimes.com) units usually don't come on until the heat is becoming hot already. By turning our solar cooling unit on early, we seem to maintain no less than 15 degrees cooler and many times as much as 20 degrees.
