Australian mums have showcased their spectacular walk-in wardrobes in envy-inducing photos on social media.

The glamorous spaces are filled with every imaginable luxury including racks of designer clothing, towers of shoes and beauty bars featuring light-up vanities with cosmetic mirrors.

One has a wall emblazoned with the iconic Prada logo while others look like the inside of five-star day spa and luxury fashion boutiques, styled with jewel-coloured ottomans, rattan baskets and brushed wood drawers.

But while you would be forgiven for thinking the wardrobes cost tens of thousands of dollars, they are all the more impressive because they have been kitted out with budget-friendly fixtures from discount stores such as Kmart, Target and Adairs.

Photos of the wardrobes, which have amassed more than 1,500 'likes' since they were uploaded to the Facebook group, Kmart Inspired Homes, have sparked stunned responses online.

'These are walk-ins I wouldn't walk out of,' one woman replied.

'Oh WOW.

I wish I had any sort of walk-in wardrobe. Beautiful,' added another.

A third said: 'This is what dreams are made of.'

Others said the photos have inspired them to renovate their own wardrobes.

Affordable home makeovers completed budget buys from Kmart continue to prove popular across Australia.

Earlier this year, a mother won praise for transforming her bedroom by papering the walls with $3 rolls of vinyl from the discount retailer.

The vinyl - which has been described as an affordable way to revamp rooms - comes in a range of stylish designs including rattan, concrete, marble and oak woodgrain, which the mother used in her bedroom.

A product description on Kmart's website says the rolls, which are 45cm long and 2cm wide, can be used to upcycle shelves, drawers and homewares.
