Testosterone, Aging along with Good Health
As a doctor with male patients over age 40, I hear many complaints about fatigue, little or no sexual energy, weight gain, irritability and/or depression. If they remark that their symptoms are only part of getting older and that there's nothing they can do about it, I love to tell them about my 89-year-old neighbor George.
George is a testament to healthy male aging. He is a brilliant conversationalist, full of vitality, with never more than the rare mild cold. He pursues the passion of his of traveling the planet like a substantially younger man always accompanied by his lovely lady friend. 1 day I joked he should have came across the fountain of youth on one of the travels of his. In response, George explained that he'd constantly consumed a great diet, exercised, and also considered vitamins, but had been on testosterone supplements for many years! I wasn't surprised, as I knew that great testosterone levels had been really important to a man's psychological well-being and physical at any era, particularly as he grows older.
In this first of two part series, I would love talking to you about deficiencies in the male hormone testosterone, the symptoms and also the sources. Part II will take care of methods of several things as well as testosterone supplementation you can do to ensure that your testosterone levels remain optimal. First let's take a look at a handful of things that can contribute to low testosterone.
Modern World Full of Estrogen
At this time there have constantly been reasons a man's testosterone level may very well be also small including genes you are created with, diet/nutritional deficiencies, along with just plain the aging process on the whole. We will get into more detail about these in Part II. But there's one specific element I'd like to deal with here; an adverse reaction of modern technology, that has turned into a vitally crucial health issue: environmental.
In modern modern-day world, we use fertilizers to maintain our lawns green, insecticides and hormones to cultivate our food, and have landfills chock-full plastic-made from our microwave dinners, water bottles, and food containers. All these factors have something in common: they contain xenoestrogens, an environmentally friendly model of the female sex hormone estrogen. These estrogens get into our water and food supply and may imbalance a man's testosterone levels. In fact, a twenty year study of testosterone booster before and after levels in males proved that testosterone levels had dropped 17 % overall in the population in between the years 1987 and 2004.
Too much estrogen in a man's system can lead to undesirable feminizing consequences such as:
o Enlarged breasts o Obesity - specifically belly fat.
o Inability to get or perhaps hold an erection
o Low sperm count
o Decreased/lighter facial/body hair
