There's a logical explanation for why bodybuilders and other physique athletes (fitness as well as figure competitors), don't stay completely ripped all year round, and it's the very reason they're competent to get so ripped on the day of a contest...
You cannot hold a peak for a long time or it is not really a "peak", right? What is the meaning of a peak? It's a very high point surrounded by 2 lower points is not it?
Thus, any shape you are able to remain in all year round isn't the "peak" condition of yours.
