Why do you need to bottom water a succulent plant? Plastic containers take longer to dry the soil because they don't absorb the water. If you have to use a container that doesn't have a drainage hole, do you prefer a tall or shallow pot? With a tall container, on the other hand, the excess water will drain toward the bottom, out of reach of your succulent roots. If your succulents get soaked in water, it will cause them to become irritated and eventually die. The soil will dry quicker if the container is made of porous material like terracotta.
