THE HAGUE, Jan 12 (Reuters) - An online marketplace called "DarkMarket" that sold illegal drugs has been taken down in an operation led by German law enforcement agencies, European police agency Europol said on Tuesday.
The darknet market had almost 500,000 users with 2,400 sellers, Europol said in a statement.
Transactions conducted on it in cryptocurrency were worth more than 140 million euros ($170 million).
Crypto money laundering rises 30% in 2021 -Chainalysis

NEW YORK, Jan 26 (Reuters) - Cybercriminals laundered $8.6 billion in cryptocurrencies last year, darkmarket 2022 up 30% from 2020, according to a report from blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis released on Wednesday.
Overall, cybercriminals have laundered more than $33 billion worth of crypto since 2017, Chainalysis estimated, with most of the total over time moving to centralized exchanges.
