Drug Use in College Can Destroy Career Aspirations
I was just recently told a story about an employer participating in a recruiting day at a nearby faculty. The recruiter was representing a Federal law enforcement agency. Surprisingly, a number of students searching for info about Federal employment approached the recruiter's booth reeking of marijuana. The college students appeared dumbfounded when the recruiter advised that candidates for this particular bureau has to be drug-free for 5 years just before being eligible for work, or much longer if other drugs are used.
Adults With Attention Deficit Disorder
Even though Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) affects some 8 million adults in the United States it often goes undiagnosed. Part of the challenge is there is no specific test to comfortably identify the condition in adults or children. Experts estimate that 5 % of school age kids are affected by ADD with and with no hyperactivity. 60 % of these children will continue to have issues into adulthood. Generally physical hyperactivity diminishes as an adult and it is much less of a dilemma.
