The lower leaves on your succulent will start to die over time. You may not see any new growth if you prune towards the end of the growing seasons. However, it will take longer for them to grow again. Plant them in smaller pots to limit their growth, so they won't reach their full height. Although some people may not react the same way, there will be a rash wherever sap touches skin. Although the sap will likely not cause any significant harm, they could make people sick. You can try to delay blooming but it's not likely they will work.
