A succulent plant's needs are different to those of other houseplants. Unless you are well-versed in cacti, you may not be aware of the pencil cactus species you have in your home and the climatic conditions it would ordinarily thrive in. Although this is true for some plants, it doesn't apply to cactus. That means they can't reproduce sexually (with plants, that means flowers that make viable seeds). The tape or bags can be removed once the seeds have developed and are ready to be collected.
